Group Policy Preferences is one of the new features of Windows Server 2008 that I am most exited about . Since Group Policy Preferences are different from Group Policies, you need a client to use Group Policy Preferences. With Windows Server 2008 knocking on the door, the "clients" have been made available.

VMware has just announced the Open Virtual Machine Format (OVF). This is a open virtual machine format. It is kind of confusing and contradictionary to the announcements of Microsoft and Citrix deciding on their own virtual machine format. But this is different.

VMware, amongst a slew of other announcements, at VMworld 2008 announced a new product called VMware Lifecycle Manager. This is the product that resulted from their acquisition of Dunes and focuses on the relatively new market of Virtual Machine lifecycle management.
