Windows CE is not the most popular option in current Thin Client devices but still is used in a lot of environments. The successor of the current version of Windows CE, Windows Embedded 200 is going to be available by the end of this year and already is available as a CTP.

I am very happy to say that Microsoft has chosen to re-elect me as an Terminal Server MVP! In fact, I am honoured and hope that my contributions to the community continue to be of value for those in it.

Earlier I mentioned that VMware renamed Thinstall to VMware ThinApp. Later they released the release candidate and today it's available to customers. You can download and try it for yourself very easily (this was a disaster with Thinstall). But how is it priced?

OK, I admit I was too optimistic. I couple of months ago Thincomputing.net predicted that Hyper-V was going to be released ahead of schedule. As it turns out, it was not released so much ahead of schedule as I had thought but still well before the deadline. Way to go Microsoft! But will Hyper-V make it against ESX?

More application virtualization release candidates. Shortly after Microsoft announced the availability of the App-V 4.5 release candidate, VMware announced the availability of the release candidate of their application virtualization solution, ThinApp.

After Microsoft has kind of renamed Microsoft Application Virtualization to App-V, they announced that the release candidate for App-V (I'm going for this one since it's shorter) has been made available. It's about time.
