The Succesor To Windows CE: Windows Embedded 2009

Windows CE is not the most popular option in current Thin Client devices but still is used in a lot of environments. The successor of the current version of Windows CE, Windows Embedded 200 is going to be available by the end of this year and already is available as a CTP.

Earlier I mentioned that VMware renamed Thinstall to VMware ThinApp. Later they released the release candidate and today it's available to customers. You can download and try it for yourself very easily (this was a disaster with Thinstall). But how is it priced?

OK, I admit I was too optimistic. I couple of months ago Thincomputing.net predicted that Hyper-V was going to be released ahead of schedule. As it turns out, it was not released so much ahead of schedule as I had thought but still well before the deadline. Way to go Microsoft! But will Hyper-V make it against ESX?
