Microsoft has provided three drawings that describe and illustrate how to plan virtualization for your organization based on Microsoft technologies. There is a PDF, XPS and a VSD download. Especially the later can be useful.
These three models describe and illustrate how to plan virtualization for your organization.
- Model 1 (VirtualizationOverview) contains an architectural
overview of the virtualization technology and the different models that
are possible.
- Model 2 (VirtualizationDeliveryMethods) contains the delivery methods that are available by using virtualization.
- Model 3 (VirtualizationMobileUser) contains the stand-alone delivery method for mobile users of virtualized applications.

All the RDP7 goodness introduced in Windows7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 used to be limited to Win7 and 2008 R2 client because they were the only platforms that had the RDP7 client. Not anymore! Microsoft just released the RDP7 Clients for Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP1/SP2.
