Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 And Acrobat Reader 7 Application Isolation Issues
Saturday, 13 May 2006 by Michel Roth
If Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 is installed on Presentation Server 4.0 and Acrobat Reader 7.0.7 is installed in an Application Isolation Environment on the same server, only one version of Acrobat Reader may execute. This happens if the following conditions are true:

• Both applications are published with the same parameters (Resolution, color depth)
• Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 is installed locally on the server
• Acrobat Reader 7.0.7 is installed in an Application Isolation Environment

Note: This scenario wasn’t observed when running any Acrobat version later than 5.0.5.

Citrix in this article suggests disabling Session Sharing as a workaround. In itself I consider that Session Sharing article a must read.
