AEP Netilla Security Platform Release 5.4 AEP Networks today introduced the latest version of its AEP Netilla Security Platform (NSP) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Virtual Private Network (VPN). The NSP Release 5.4 includes several performance improvements, new certifications, improvements to the administrator web interface, and new features such as load balancing for failover and scalability. It also includes seamless integration with PowerTerm® WebConnect from Ericom Software to provide improved access to applications residing on Windows Terminal Servers and legacy host systems such as IBM Mainframe (zSeries), IBM Midrange (iSeries), UNIX, Linux, OpenVMS, Tandem and more. AEP NACpoint AEP Networks today announced the AEP NACpoint for network admission control (NAC). NACpoint protects networked resources against attack from unknown users and devices by: • authenticating users requesting LAN access, • performing a node posture validation scan of clients (validating that a machine is current on patches and anti-virus and spyware signatures), and • placing offending clients in quarantine and enabling remediation. AEP Networks delivers a Policy Networking suite from the enterprise edge to the core. The company has already been providing Policy Networking at the edge via its SSL VPN, IPSec VPN and identity gateway application access products. Now the company is expanding their policy-based networking solutions for the core (LAN) to cover network admission control, identity management and application assurance. Policy Networking ties network and application access to identity and policy, a necessity arising from dissolution of the traditional perimeter. AEP NACpoint is the first offering in the new network core product suite.
