AppSense Management Suite 6.1
Tuesday, 24 January 2006 by Michel Roth
AppSense has announced the availability of AppSense Management Suite 6.1. These are some of the new features in version 6.1:

Device Lockdown
AppSense Management Suite 6.1 includes easy to configure yet flexible USB lockdown capabilities. Administrators will be able to configure device lockdown policies by user or machine and have them enforced by the same application that protects the other parts of their endpoint environment. Auditing then enables the administrator to track which devices have been accessed, by whom and at what time.

Soft CPU Limits
By using Soft CPU Limits users can control applications so that a intense application is kept below a limit while others need resource, but let it take more when there is no contention for resource.

Self Authorizing Users
This gives Administrators a new level of flexibility in how they let power users have the freedom they need within policy framework. Self Authorizing Users lets users authorize themselves for applications while keeping an audit of their actions. This gives a very useful mix of flexibility backed up by the controlling aspects of an audit.
