AppSense Releases Environment Manager 7.0
Wednesday, 31 January 2007 by Michel Roth
AppSense today announced the availability of Environment Manager 7.0, enabling IT to control and customize configurations that are secure, predictable and preserved in their best-known state. The new upgrade offers advanced user profile management, which makes it easy for IT to create and manage stable, compact profiles for even the most mobile users.

AppSense also announced a new program to help resellers and customers eliminate the complexity and costs of unwieldy profiles, and overcome profile-related application security challenges. The new program provides resellers with an economic and easy to implement value-added service, enabling them to use AppSense Profile Management to quickly rebuild and reuse profile components. Customers can use these same capabilities to manage profiles on an ongoing basis.

AppSense Environment Manager 7.0 dramatically improves and simplifies user profile management:

• Only specific settings are copied at logon/logoff times, keeping file sizes to a minimum and maintaining faster logon times.
• Only the required settings for the particular server silo are copied over ensuring no configuration issues.
• The solution requires minimal attention once configured, ensuring fast logon times, aiding stability and reducing any loss of service for the user.
• Eliminates the costs of unstable and unwieldy profiles.
• Resolves roaming profile issues that are traditionally encountered when users are logged on to multiple Citrix terminal services servers.
• Reduces TCO through centralized management of user profiles (lower support calls, lower remediation costs).
