Automation Control Products announces TermSecure with SmartContex

Automation Control Products announces TermSecure with SmartContext, a software product that works with ACP's Thin Client management software ThinManager to greatly enhance Thin Client and Terminal Server security.

ACP's ThinManager already enhances Microsoft Terminal Services to simplify security and control, allowing administrators to protect applications and data in a secure area and distribute the Windows interface on inexpensive Thin Clients. ACP's TermSecure advances this security to a level previously unavailable.

TermSecure insulates Thin Clients from Terminal Servers allowing only legitimate users to view the network. This barrier is created before the clients have access to any Windows applications. Only users with proper authentication and permissions using a valid Thin Client will be able to establish a connection. Because ThinManager manages the Terminal Servers, the Thin Client hardware, and the Windows operating systems ACP is the only company that can offer this level of security. The TermSecure User doesn't even know a Windows username and password. This information is kept as part of his TermSecure profile and is passed to the Servers only after he has been authenticated. Changes to user accounts do not affect any Microsoft Server accounts - simply modify (or delete) the ThinManager account.Users login with a TermSecure username and password or by using an RFID tag, card-swipe or USB key. Combine a hardware key with a password for even stronger protection.

TermSecure also includes a powerful feature ACP calls SmartContext which allows one Thin Client to control multiple sessions on multiple Terminal Servers. SmartContext brings the user's desktop and sessions to any authorized Thin Client at login. As the user moves from client to client SmartContext instantly locates and reconnects him to his existing terminal server sessions. Applications and data follow the user and appear on his screen as he approaches. Once the user leaves the client his session disconnects.
