Cisco Buys WebEx
Saturday, 17 March 2007 by Michel Roth
It's no secret that Cisco is (aiming to be) one of Citrix' biggest competitors. Cisco has amplified this suspicion even further by buying WebEx. WebEx is a company that deals in online services. Note the word "online". WebEx' biggest competitor is/was Citrix Online. As a matter of fact, WebEx even sued Citrix some time ago for stealing it's domains. Outside of that, it doesn't take a intergalatical brain surgeon to see that Cisco is moving into Citrix' (Online) market space (even more).

Citrix Online offers:
GoToAssist
GoToMyPC
GoToMeeting
GoToWebinar

WebEx Offers almost the same services:
Support Center
PCNow
MeetMeNow
Event Center

If you take a look at it from another perspective, then you could say that Citrix' clearly has moved into the market space of Cisco by their acquisition of Net6, NetScaler, Teros and Orbital Data. for their Netscaler, WANScaler and Access Gateway Platforms. Either way, it will be interesting to see this lands...
