Citrix' XenSource XenEnterprise v4 Review
Friday, 24 August 2007 by Michel Roth
I think by know even someone living on the north pole has heard about Citrix acquiring XenSource (even if they did not want to). We, as application delivery professionals, are quite familiar with Citrix' products. XenSource however is quite new for us.

I'm sure lots of you want to know what all the fuss is about with XenSource. I know I'd like to test XenSource's latest product XenEnterprise v4. Unfortunately I do not have the time nor the hardware to do so. Does it measure up to ESX? What tricks can it do? Check out the review here.

UPDATE: Geert has just posted the second part of his review of XenSource XenEnterprise v4 . Its nice to get an overview about what XenSource XenEnterprise v4 can and cannot do. For example, I learned that XenSource XenEnterprise v4 surpasses VMware when it comes to virtual machine abilities. VMware ESX's vSMP supports four virtual CPUs while XenSource XenServer supports 8. You can also assign more than 16GB of RAM and you can hot-add and hot-remove virtual network adapters...
