Yet another acquisition made by Citrix (the 5th this year - six if you count Caymas Systems). Yesterday Citrix announced that they have acquired a company called QuickTree. QuickTree is a small privately-held company focusing on security and performance challenges of XML and web services. So how is Citrix planning on integrating this into their current product line?
Citrix is planning on integrating the QuickTree technology to initially make the XML handling services of the NetScaler (including the Access Gateway) and the WANscaler more secure. The integration into the NetScaler platform is planned first. The integration will be done into the AppExpert (policy building engine) components of the aforementioned platforms. So this sounds like an integration that you will never actually "see".
