Citrix Improves Support Site Search
Tuesday, 07 August 2007 by Michel Roth
There are a couple of support sites that make want to pull my hair out sometimes. The Citrix Support site is one of those. This mainly has to do with the nasty search function on the current site. Thankfully, it looks like this is about to change.

I, and lots of others as well, have been baffled with the inability of the Citrix search engine to produce accurate search results. I've created a habit of bookmarking anything I find vaguely interesting because I know I won't find it again using the Citrix support site search engine. In fact I used to use google to perform a custom search in "support.citrix.com/article".

Citrix of course knows about these issues and has been working has to correct this problem. To this end Citrix has developed a new search engine for the Citrix support site utilizing a google search appliance. I've tried it and it seems pretty good. It turns up the results I was looking for and is a lot faster as well.

The new search facility is currently in beta and Citrix is looking for your feedback. Go give it a shot: http://support.citrix.com/hsearch.jspa
