Data Store Information Tool
Wednesday, 12 January 2005 by Michel Roth
Ever since the Data Store was introduced in Metaframe XP 1.0, I have never been able to find a way to quickly identify on what server the Data Store resides.

Even with the arrival of tools like DSMAINT and QFARM there still wasn't a way to quickly identify the Data Store. I know that the registry or the ODBC connections admin tool can give you a good hint but I simply just cannot believe that there isn't a built-in tool to identify something as important as your Data Store server (whether it's Access, SQL or whatever).

So I've decided to create a very simple VB Script which extracts the PSServer value from the registry. The extracted name should be your Data Store server. In addition it also tells you the name of the Data Collector.

Please note that the tool currently is in beta and there for is provided for "as-is". Please This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it me with any feedback on the tool.

Hi,
do you still have the tool, because it was removed from the website?

Thanks Carsten
