Ericom Software Releases PowerTerm WebConnect 5.5

Ericom Software today announced PowerTerm WebConnect 5.5 - the latest release of its flagship product line. This enhanced Server Based Computing (SBC) solution provides centrally managed, secure, local and remote access to applications residing on Windows Terminal Servers and legacy systems, from both Windows and Linux client devices. PowerTerm WebConnect's enhancements empower users with on demand, anytime, anywhere access - increasing overall productivity and lowering total cost of ownership.

Providing access to the widest range of enterprise data and applications, PowerTerm WebConnect 5.5 eliminates the need for costly point solutions as it allows organizations to standardize on a single enterprise application access solution. PowerTerm WebConnect integrates enhanced security, centralized management tools, remote desktop support, and more into an on-demand connectivity solution that enables corporations to both simplify and optimize their IT infrastructure.

PowerTerm WebConnect 5.5 highlights the following key enhancements:

Secure Application Publishing
PowerTerm WebConnect enables one-step publishing of single or multiple applications, making it easier for IT administrators to manage user access to mission-critical applications and data. Published applications are accessible by way of the newly introduced PowerTerm WebConnect Application Zone or Application Portal Web interface. These tools provide users with on demand access to applications and data, as they can quickly be launched via a list, icons from the Desktop, Start menu, web interface, or a portal environment.

Efficiency, Productivity and Security Tools
PowerTerm WebConnect 5.5 introduces tools for enhanced efficiency, including Application and Terminal Server load balancing, automatic re-direction of internet content, session re-connect, single port relay, remote desktop support and remote desktop access.

Increased Scalability
PowerTerm WebConnect further increases scalability as each PowerTerm WebConnect Server can handle thousands of concurrent users.

Comprehensive Platform Support
PowerTerm WebConnect Server runs on Windows, Windows 64-bit, Linux on Intel, Linux on IBM POWER and Linux on IBM zSeries.

Portal Integration
PowerTerm WebConnect further extends its platform support by integrating with Portals including: IBM Workplace, IBM WebSphere Portal and other portal environments such as Oracle and Vignette portals.
