Explaining Microsoft Imported Network Print Servers and NDS Logons
Thursday, 14 July 2005 by Michel Roth
This article explains a difference, with respect to the importation of a Microsoft Network Print Server and using NDS Logons, between MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 and Presentation Server 4.0. Prior to Presentation Server 4.0, you could import a Microsoft Print Server and assign it to both NT and / or NDS users. If NDS integration (the Novell tree being added to the Management Console) was or was not used and the printer was assigned to an NT or NDS account that had a mapped NDS account, the printer would still be applied regardless if the user logged on with their NDS or NT credentials. Imported Print Servers were not dependant on the Policy subsystem.
