Explaining Scanner Support with Citrix
Tuesday, 07 March 2006 by Michel Roth
Scanner support under MetaFrame XP and Presentation Server 3.0 is not directly supported by Citrix. Citrix supports bidirectional TWAIN compliant input devices in Presentation Server 4.0.

For those of you requiring the use of scanners on non-Presentation Server 4.0 platforms, try:

RemoteScan
Dokscan by LWP

There may be other vendors that provide similar solutions.

The following scanner models tested successfully for TWAIN compatibility with Presentation Server 4.0:

• Canon CanonScan 3200F
• Epson Perfection 3170 Photo – USB
• Hewlett Packard OfficeJet 7130 All-In-One
• Hewlett Packard ScanJet 8290
• Microtek ScanMaker 5950 – USB
• QuickCam Messenger Logitech
• Visioneer OneTouch 9320
• Xerox DocuMate 510

These are the specific models which have been tested by Citrix to work properly with TWAIN redirection function with Presentation Server 4.0. Any image acquisition device which supports TWAIN protocol should work within an ICA session.
