FAQ - Suite Monitoring and Alerting
Tuesday, 14 March 2006 by Michel Roth
SMA is Suite Monitoring and Alerting and was introduced with Presentation Server 4.0. It is an Enterprise feature that monitors the server for problems and then creates alerts in the Access Suite Console when a problem is found.

SMA consists of the Citrix SMA service, SMA scripts and alerts for predefined problem scenarios, and an IMA subsystem. The SMA service and scripts check the event log and WMI events for problems. The SMA subsystem of IMA is used to display the alert to the Access Suite Console.
