Getting Under The Hood Of A CAG Appliance
Monday, 08 January 2007 by Michel Roth
This article on the Citrix User Group of New Zealand blog discusses how you can try and make an Citirix Access Gateway appliance be accesible via SSH and interact with it:

"The CAG appliance is essentially some x86 mid-range hardware running a somewhat modified Linux implementation. The default management of the CAG is done through a java-based GUI interface but surely if the CAG is a Linux based device we should be able to interact with it like with any other Linux-based system; using SSH! A while back I decided to have a crack at it and I've finally gotten around to posting some information around that experiment.

The CAG appliance booted OK and I was able to SSH to it! Now you can interact with like you would do with most other Linux system. You can schedule things through cron, run monitoring shell scripts etc.

I believe that Citrix might be releasing SSH support in future versions of the CAG build. I think it would be a very useful feature to have supported on the CAG appliance. With some basic Linux skills and a Live boot CD you can enable it today or your lab appliance."
