IGEL Enables Basic Administration Of IGEL Clever Clients Via Altiris
Monday, 19 June 2006 by Michel Roth
IGEL Technology has announced support for the world-renowned third party management software Altiris Deployment Solution. By that, users of Altiris' management solution profit from a limited but time saving way to basically configure IGEL Clever Clients.

IT Managers already using Altiris Deployment Solution are now able to distribute a preconfigured image to one or more Thin Clients within their network. However, the best way to manage IGEL Thin Clients still is to use the IGEL Remote Management Suite. IGEL's own management software solution allows 100% management of Linux and CE Features as well as the essential features of IGEL's XPe firmware, granting a maximum of TCO savings. The IGEL Remote Management Suite is free of charge and will continuously be enhanced and developed in the future.

To distribute a preconfigured image to one or more Thin Clients within the network, IT Managers simply use the load-balancing feature of Altiris Deployment Solution. The necessary job file for the Altiris Deployment Console is now available for download in the Service & Support section of the IGEL website www.igel.com. With this software, IGEL proactively meets the demand of customers already using the Altiris Deployment solution, offering the benefits of a Thin Client infrastructure within their existing management environment.
