Login Consultants Launches OSDEditor 2.01
Monday, 19 November 2007 by Michel Roth
My colleague Jan van der Elst has released an updated version of his OSDEditor: the OSD Editor version 2.01. This new version, amongst other things, allows you to easily import scripts and registry files into your OSD file!

The OSDEditor is a GUI tool that allows you to open an existing OSD file and edit it. All the possible categories are read from the OSD file and are editable in the tool. You can insert and/or delete values from the OSD as you like. So you don't have to worry and opening and closing tags or anything like that any more. There are however some fields you can not edit with the OSD Editor. This is by design: these are fields that should never be edited like for example the GUID of the sequence. Additionally, the OSD Editor also educates you on the meaning of some of the XML tags that can be used in Softgrid OSD files.

What are all the new features in version 2.01? Well, first of all the layout has been completely overhauled. The tab based layout that was used in version 1.0, is replaced by a new wizard driven GUI. Besides that the data fields size ability has improved dramatically. Additionally the following features have been added:

• Script import functionality.
• Registry files import functionality.
• HREF import functionality
