MetaFrame 1.8 and MetaFrame XP Drive Remapping Best Practice
Sunday, 13 March 2005 by Michel Roth
It is fairly common to remap drives when implementing Citrix Metaframe. If you do, be sure to read this best practices whitepaper.

"In Windows 2000, more and more services use their own databases rather than the registry to store information. Examples of this are IIS, Active Directory, File Replication Services, Disk Configuration information, and the COM+ Catalog. The Citrix server drive remapping mechanism available with MetaFrame 1.8 Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000 can scan the registry and COM+ Catalog to change drive letters. See Page 21 of MetaFrame 1.8 Service Pack 2 for Windows 2000 Installation Guide for specifics. For MetaFrame XP, see Pages 62 and 63 of the Citrix MetaFrame XP Application Server for Windows Administrator's Guide and Server Drive Remapping and using the Driveremap.exe Utility in MetaFrame XP FR2."
