Neoware Enters VDI Market With Virtual Desktop Ready Thin Clients
Wednesday, 14 March 2007 by Michel Roth
Neoware has entered the VDI market by releasing VDI-ready editions of some of it's Thin Clients. Featuring virtual desktop-ready editions of its most popular thin client devices, the new products are fully compatible with leading virtual personal computer initiatives, including VMware's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), IBM's Virtual Client solution (VCS), and Citrix's Dynamic Desktop Initiative (DDI).

The new product line for this initiative includes special editions of the Neoware c50 and Neoware e140 thin client devices, as well as the Neoware m100 mobile thin client. All of these products are available with either the Linuxor XPe operating systems.

Even Neoware's entry-level VDI-ready devices with the Linux operating system come with 128 MB of flash memory installed, ensuring that users have access to greater built-in resources, and that the devices are future-proofed as customers add capability and adopt emerging virtualization technologies. Competing products deliver only 32 MB of flash on their entry-level devices.

All the new Neoware thin client devices included in this offering provide support for Microsoft RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) and the latest version of Citrix ICA, and are compatible with the leading connection brokers from Leostream and Propero. The Neoware devices are also Citrix Ready, and compatible with the Citrix Dynamic Desktop Initiative.

These devices are available now from Neoware and its network of channel partners for list prices that start at $279.
