Network Access Protection is a platform for Microsoft® Windows Server™ "Longhorn," the next version of the Windows Server operating system, that provides policy enforcement components that help ensure that computers connecting to a network meet administrator-defined requirements for system health. Internet Protocol security (IPsec) is a set of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standards that provides cryptographic protection for IP-based traffic. This document provides an overview of the Network Access Protection platform, IPsec, and how IPsec Quarantine in the Network Access Protection platform works to provide system health policy enforcement for IPsec-secured communication.
