Presentation Server 4.5 Technology Preview And Expected Features
Thursday, 04 January 2007 by Michel Roth
This somewhat dated but good post from the CCitrix User Group in New Zealand discusses the Technology Preview Version of Presentation Server 4.5 and what features are expected to make it to the RTM version. Whatever their source is and regardless of whether or not they do actually make in into the RTM build it's interesting to read about them. Some of them are:

Application Pre-launching

This feature will have certain high demand applications in a pre-launched state making access to high demand applications faster for end users but effectively connecting them to an already running application session.

Enhanced Graphics Support

Support for better Citrix integration with graphical applications. Version 4.5 may well see support for applications like CAD,Adobe Photoshop and CorelDRAW as applications published through Citrix.

More Monitoring & Reporting Features
One the back of the Reflectant purchase the PS 4.5 product should offer enhanced monitoring and alerting features right out of the box. Reflectant as a product is not likely to be part of 4.5 but some of the monitoring and alerting components are. An extension of Resource Manager capabilities is also expected as part of the latest release.
