Preview: Terminal Services IPD

In a Technet Edge video I ran into a interview with some people in the solutions accelerator team responsible for creating the Windows Server 2008 Terminal Services infrastructure planning and design (IPD) guide.

The most interesting part of the 26 video are the last 15 minutes or so. This part of the video is about an interview with Fergus Stewart, the Terminal Services IPD guide creator. In the interview, the following subjects are covered:

  • Intro into what his guide covers at a high level
  • How they come up with the matrix of decisions and how it compares to the terminal services book from MS Press.
  • 1st step in the TS guide: figuring out the scope
  • 2nd step : determining which applications to deliver through TS
  • What applications are to use through TS?
  • Why determining which applications to deliver through TS is the most difficult step to take.
  • How does Softgrid fit into decision making with TS?
  • Legal and political considerations in delivering your app through TS

Check out the video here.
