For almost everyone new printer of Hewlett Packard put on the market, also a new printer driver becomes available. As everyone one knows you want to have as less drivers installed on your Terminal Servers, but the life cycle of printers (before a new model is launched) is getting shorter so more drivers need to be installed on your servers. To solve this issue HP released the HP Universal Driver. Let's take a look if this drivers helps you the driver challenge.

De HP Universal driver can be downloaded for free at the website of HP. After extracting the zipped executable the installation source is available. HP offers an installation executable to install the driver, but you can also install the components to via the Add Printer Wizard. The installation is actually just a wrapper around the Add Printer process. A plus for HP because they also provided unattended parameters with the installation executable, so you can easy deploy the software using scripts or software deployment mechanism.
