SMA Service Does Not Start After Upgrade Of MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 With Service Pack 2005

The SMA Service doesn’t start after the upgrade of MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 servers with the 2005.04 Service Pack.Restarting the SMA Service manually also fails, however the printing service starts fine. Service Pack 2005.04 is not showing under Add/Remove Programs, therefore it could not be uninstalled without uninstalling MetaFrame Presentation Server completely.

This issue may occur because of one or more of the following conditions:

• The server is a domain controller
• The Ctx_SmaUser account has been deleted, corrupted, or denied permissions required to start this service
• There may have been some file corruption during the installation of the Service Pack
