The All-NEW Thincomputing.net !
Wednesday, 09 January 2008 by Michel Roth
Finally! After six months of development Thincomputing.net is proud to present the new Thincomputing.net. An all-new site with a lot of new features but above all FASTER and more reliable. What do you think? I'd love to know, please share your thoughts in the comments!

This version of Thincomputing.net would make for Thincomputing.net v4. The new Thincomputing.net was build because the old platform simply was not able to deliver the content to Thincomputing.net readers in the ways necessary but above all, it was slow and unreliable. Therefore, Thincomputing.net has been completely rebuild from scratch on a new CMS platform. Also, Thincomputing.net has been moved to a new hosting provider to dramatically improve speed and reliability.

In addition to improvements in speed and reliability, the new Thincomputing.net also is a more feature-rich platform to provide you with all the content from Thincomputing.net. Take a quick 1 minute tour of the new features of the new Thincomputing.net:

Thincomputing.net tour

The new Thincomputing.net has some new features like:

  • Individual RSS Feed Support: now you can subscribe only to the category you want to watch
  • Improved Commenting: The commenting system has been completely revised. It's now fast and anonymous (optional). It's now possible to comment on every single content item on Thincomputing.net. Feel very free to share your thoughts. Let's start by commenting this post!
  • Newsletter Support: Over the years I've had people ask me whether it was possible to sign up to a newsletter. Well, now it is! It's rudimentary but it's a newsletter.
  • Related Content: this is something I am very exited about. The new Thincomputing.net has been equipped with a system that displays links to related content underneath the content you are reading. This makes full use of Thincomputing.net's rich history of watching the industry (and sometimes provides funny insights).

There's a lot more new stuff in the new Thincomputing.net as well as new stuff on the way. Please, take a look around and tell me what you think!

Let me take this opportunity to thanks all of you who have kept coming back to Thincomputing.net even when it was dead slow or even unavailable. I hope you find the new Thincomputing.net more faster, more feature-rich and more reliable.

Should you have any remarks, suggestions, questions or should you otherwise want to contact me, please do not hesitate to do so. Use the contact form or email me directly at m.roth *-at-* thincomputing.net.

Thanks,

Michel Roth.

Much better! To be honest I found the old site a bit annoying with too many ads.

This is a major improvement.
