| The Future Of Citrix Load Balancing |

With Project Constellation, Citrix mentioned that were working - amongst other things- on something called "Autonomic Load Management" which basically boiled down to monitoring a users behaviour on Citrix servers and "profiling" the user in terms of the average load he or she puts on the server. This profile would then be taken into account when that user queries the Data Collector for a new session. When I read this article by Prasanna Padmanabhan, this (End User Experience (EUE) based load balancing) is just one of two options Citrix is looking at: "There are a couple of ideas that we (Citrix red.) are exploring: • End User Experience (EUE) based load balancing • User-Application preferential load balancing. The first has to do with load balancing based on the end-user's experience. That is loadbalancing sessions to the server that at any instance gives the best user experience. EUE is a separate topic in itself and warrants it own discussion. In this post, I'll talk about User-Application preferential load balancing, which is preferring certain applications and users to others." Read the entire article here.
