sftImport sftImport 2.0 is an upgrade of the sftImport 1.0. This utility can be used to import OSD (Softgrid Application) files into a Softgrid database (previously this was a manual process that required several steps and was easy to screw up). In fact, sftImport can even import multiple OSD's at once (i.e. an entire folder) or via a CSV file. This tool is great whether you manually configure your environments or whether you write configuration scripts. Release 2.0 ads Softricity SoftGrid 4.0 support. Ping-it Ping-it is a new tool by DeNamiK. Is basically allows you to provide non-power users with the ping command without giving them access to the command prompt or other system tools. "In most organizations support users (i.e. helpdesk, servicedesk, webdesigners, etc.) have restricted account-access rights on local workstations or servers (when using Server Based Computing). In many cases users are only allowed to use a specified set of services and executables to minimize the security risks and maximize work time. Depending the organization structure, these restrictions most often apply to tools like ‘command.com’, ‘cmd.exe’ and ‘ping.exe’. To be able to provide this group of users the ability to ping servers, printers and other network connected devices, without having to publish ‘command.com’, ‘cmd.exe’, ‘ping.exe’ etc, we have created the DeNamik “Ping-it’ tool." Check out and download these tools over at DeNamiK.com. You can also provide feedback on the DeNamik support forum.
