UniPrint Releases New Host Module. The latest add-on module for the UniPrint Suite of printing products, Host Module makes it simple for mainframe (AS/400 and UNIX) users who connect through Citrix ICA or Microsoft RDP to extend their printing capabilities beyond the mainframe environment. UniPrint Host Module enables users to print from a mainframe application to a desktop or network printer both quickly and easily through an ICA or RDP session. Host Module is compatible with both the UniPrint Server and Gateway Module solutions launched in December, 2004.

UniPrint Host Module is the perfect solution for mainframe users whose printing capabilities were previously limited to mainframe designed printers. By enabling users to print through an ICA/RDP session, UniPrint Host Module frees the mainframe user to utilize any available printer. Additionally, UniPrint Host Module eliminates the slow printing speeds associated with mainframe-generated print jobs by converting files from the large PCL5 format to the much-smaller Printable Document Format (PDF).
