WISP 2007 To Be Released On September 28

For those of you very much looking out for WISP 2007 (Citrix Web Interface for Microsoft SharePoint 2007) there's good news. Allthough Citrix had originally planned to release WISP 2007 togehter with Presentation Server 4.5 Feature Pack 1, they've had to postpone it a week: WISP 2007 will be released on the 28th of September.

For those of you unfamiliar with WISP, WISP is a Citrix addon for Sharepoint that allows you to very easily shows published applications in Sharepoint sites using "Sharepoint technology" (webparts).

In comparison to it's predecessor WISP 2003, WISP 2007 has the following new features:

• Support for the client detection wizard (from Citrix Web Interface 4.6 )
• Supports for more more authentication and single sign-on capabilities: server-side Kerberos delegation and HTTP basic authentication.
• Support for more ICA Clients: Web Client, the native embedded client, and the Client for Java.
• Support for streamed applications.
High colour icon support.
• A feature that inserts a new item into the top navigation bar of SharePoint
• A feature that inserts new navigation elements into the Sharepoint Quick Launch area
• A feature that allows content stored in SharePoint to be
opened with a published application including the "NEW" file command (Sharepoint people know what I mean right?)

So all this good stuff in about a week. If you can't wait for it, Citrix has had a technology preview of WISP (MyCitrix account required) available for some time now.
