Wyse Announces Thin Client Notebooks

Wyse is about to announce an addition to their product line by introducing their Thin Client notebooks: X90 and X90e. These thin client notebooks will offer multimedia video playback, integrated Bluetooth 2.0 and built-in smart card support, 802.11b/802.11g and 3G wireless capabilities and a 12.1-inch LCD wide screen. These new notebooks run on Windows XP Embedded.

The X90 and X90e notebooks shared characteristics are:

• VIA C7-M ULV, 1.2 GHz processor
• 512MB of flash
• 512MB of RAM
• Weight of 3.88 Lbs / 1.76 Kg (with battery)
• Ethernet Port
• USB Ports
• Wi-Fi

Additionally, the Wyse X90e comes with Bluetooth and smart card support. Pricing, al always, is interesting with the "novelty" devices. The Wyse X90 lists at $699 and X90e goes from $779.

With this move Wyse is joining the other Thin Client vendors who are also (planning on) offering Thin Client notebooks, like Neoware, Athena , HP .
